Stanley
Founding Partner and President
Stanley is from Suzhou and attended Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania for his MBA where he was the recipient of the Russell G. Redenbough Scholarship. Stanley is passionate about education; before founding Ivyuan and Taurus Education, he was involved in numerous education related programs and funded education start-ups. Before founding Taurus in 2008, Stanley worked in finance and consulting, and was involved in the mergers and acquisitions for multinationals such as HP and Disney. He's a big fan of soccer and likes to spend time with his family and friends.
Laz
Senior Partner and CEO
Laz is from Shanghai, China. He graduated from Dartmouth College with honors, where he double-majored in economics and mathematics. He worked at KMPG Shanghai as the youngest intern in Greater China. As a veteran in this industry, he joined Taurus Education in 2008, and has helped numerous students around China on their college application. Outside of work, he likes to play sports, try out new restaurants and spend time with his friends.

College Counseling

We provide individualized guidance to over 200 talented 9th-12th grade students leading up to and during their college application process. Through our tailored approach to each parent and student’s needs, we ensure that our clients are fully prepared for the application cycle.

Our consultants meet one-on-one with students and parents to get a sense of each student’s academic background, interests, and goals. Through our conversations, we better understand what each student needs to succeed. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • High School Career Planning

    • Create a detailed plan for each student’s coursework, extracurricular activity engagement, and academic subject exploration
    • Guide students through the summer school application process to make them more competitive when applying to colleges
    • Provide academic enrichment courses ranging from “English Literature” to “Introduction to World Religions”
  • College Selection

    • Develop and finalize a list of colleges based on students’ interests and preferences
    • Devise strategies for applying to each college based on each institution’s characteristics and mission
  • Essay Guidance

    • Brainstorm ideas for various essays, including personal statements, academic interest essays, and other similar topics
    • Help students craft narratives that convey who they are and highlight their strengths to admissions officers
  • Test Advising

    • Provide information and resources regarding standardized tests needed for applying to colleges, including TOEFL, SAT, SATII, and ACT
  • Interview Preparation

    • Prepare students one-on-one for on campus and off campus interviews with alumni, admissions officers, and third-party interviewing services
  • Application Review

    • Review students’ finalized applications to ensure consistency, clarity, and creativity
  • Financial Aid and Scholarship Assistance

    • Provide students with resources for applying for financial aid and scholarships to finance their education and summer opportunities
